PUNCH is an unusual story about love, loyalty and redemption.

Jim is a seventeen-year old boxer in a small town. He is a golden boy preparing for a fight that will elevate him to an early professional status. All bets are on his climb to success.
But Jim's dad is a demanding coach and an alcoholic. In the town he is treated as a joke but he has given everything to see his son gain professional status and escape the world that has kept him trapped.
As Jim begins to rethink why he is fighting, his life tangles with two of the town's social outcasts. The first is Simon, an effeminate, razor-tongued Maori boy who spends his days in an old shack down by the beach. With his dog Razoo and a collection of damaged Connie Frances records, he cobbles together a fragile glamour and dreams of leaving town.
Then Jim meets Ruth. At fifteen she has a baby. Overweight and shy she is considered the town slut. Living with the strict rules of her Brethren foster parents, she faces losing custody of the only thing that has ever loved her.
As these kids become dependent on each other, Jim discovers that strength has little to do with heroism. When he finally discovers the truth his dad has been hiding from him, he must come to terms with the costs of love and loyalty.
As he enters the ring, he must make an impossible choice.

Curently in development with writer/director Welby Ings.
